configuration provides the support for a large 5S tool peg board on an assembly line. For this lean manufacturing challenge, the objective was to easily access and position at point of use the critical tools needed to build their vehicles as they moved down the assembly line. A 2 axis Kaizen Arm configuration provided quick installation, and a more flexible solution than a cart at a more competitive cost. Using their steel columns as a base, the business end of the arm was configured to interface with their large 5S tool peg board and provide a whopping 100 pounds of support at a 48″ projection. With this configuration, the tool board could now be ergonomically positioned and easily accessed at point of use when need, but fold out of the way to clear the aisle when not needed. For this build out, the following Kaizen Arm components we’re used:

BUILD LIST

  • Qty. 2 HD Wall Mount, used as a base and at the business end of the arm
  • Qty. 2 Rigid Sections, 24″ Length
  • Qty. 1 Connector Pin, 5.0 Length to connect HD Wall Mount to business end of the Kaizen Arm
  • Large Tool Peg Board (customer’s own)
